Hi,
I’m French and I’m very surprised with your comment about blue-eyed people in France. As, I would say, 45% of Caucasian French people is blue or green-eyed (with a higher proportion of blue, I’m one of them myself) and most of the rest is Hazel-eyed (sometimes mixed with green). As for the hair, the figures cannot be very accurate because 20% of our population which are not Caucasians are taking into account, but I would say 20-25%, the rest is mostly chestnut (light brown hair) and a few dark (especially in the South) and I think I’m very honnest here when I’m saying that.

Just a note there is more “pure” Germanic stock in the United States and Canada then in Spain,Italy or Greece.

how true,if you look at the Finns and many Russians,compared to the Swedes ,both are blond,but the Finns have mixed Euroasian features,different cheekbones,slanted eyes,so yes I am sure they are mixed with Siberian people.The Swedes and the Latvians are the most Germanic looking as far as the rounder faces and eyes.Given the propensity for Mongloid people to think lighter is better I would not doubt that each generation gets lighter by mixing with their Germanic neighbors,same thing happened to the Native Americans.

The Celtic people who settled the British Isles from Northern Spain tended to be light,then the British Isles also had Viking invasions from the north.Now I do not know why the Welsh being so Celtic in cultures are darked hair and dark eyes,the probally had Spanish invasions since tehy are close to the coast of Galicia,I do not know does any one know the history of Wales? There are also many descendants of the Celts in North America(USA and Canada),Australia,New Zealand and white Africans who have the light hair and eyes,but many of those are mixed with Germans ,Dutch, and other light haired people.

when you say Spain…depends parts of Northern Spain yes,but not the mayority.I do not know,by looking at this board, why Spaniards are so obssessed in proving they are so white or so “Northern European looking”

I do not know ,but personal observation in Madrid most people had dark hair and dark eyes,ow there were a lot of women who were blonde out of a bottle =)

1)Sweden
2)Finland
3)Latvia
4)Denmark
5)Holland
6)Germany
7)British Isles

The orinal poeple of the British Isles were Celts that came from Northern Spain around the region that today would be the Basque country ,so it would not be surprisingly they share genetic make up and then both had Germanic invasions,what was lacking in the British Isles was the Moorish invasion of Southern Spain ,so the Southern Spanish people have other roots as well:Moorish,Carthagen,Phoenician,Roman,but nowadays that is not confined to one place or another because people move around .
